Lean Water & Energy Skillnet launched their flagship Lean Utilities Programme in July and received an enthusiastic reception from locally-based industrial partners including Vistakon and Severn Trent Water. The Lean Utilities Programme was developed by Central Solutions and the University of Limerick (UL), with the support of the EPA’s Green Enterprise Programme and leading multinational and indigenous firms in Ireland.

The programme’s first training session was well attended and participants were motivated and encouraged to engage actively with course director Dr. Sean Moore, during the initial scoping and needs analysis exercises. The aim of the programme is to deliver verified energy and water cost savings in the short term along with longer-term sustainability goals, as well as providing participants with formal Lean and Six Sigma accreditation from UL.
