In April, 20 network managers and Skillnets staff came together to raise money for charity by arranging a cycling challenge along the Greenway track from Achill to Westport, covering a distance of 42km. The cycle was organised by Sara Mullaly, Waterford Chamber Skillnet and Teresa Hanratty, Learning Waves Skillnet, and supported by Skillnets, with the aim of bringing network managers together to raise money for charity. A total of €6,500 was raised for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, Tabor Lodge, Special Olympics Club Gorey Area, Hand in Hand, Ability West, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Support in Donegal. The biggest fundraiser was Gerry Gallagher from Rural Enterprise Skillnet who raised €3,800 for two charities, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Support in Donegal.
